Strangers When We Meet is one of the most underrated Bowie songs. I really love this truly incredible version. The piano was mixed perfectly. Notice how everyone in the band just played the perfect part. If it weren’t for their laying it down so beautifully, there would have been no way for me to have had the freedom to improvise so continuously underneath or to be as supportive of David. I hope you hear and see what I see. He was the artist of many generations.

Live in London on July 3 for the Ziggy Stardust Film Premiere

With his encouragement, I opened for David Bowie and the Spiders From Mars on July 3, 1973, with a medley of his songs on piano. All by myself. David told me he was more nervous for me that historical night than he was for himself! I’m excited to return to the Hammersmith, 50 years to the day, to recreate that moment before we watch the global premiere of the newly restored version of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars: The Motion Picture.
