A Bowie Celebration – January 8 Stream Updates

I have some BIG news to share with you about our show in January but I need you to share, like and tag your friends in the comment below to spread the word about this amazing project!

I told you back in October about the special global streaming concert we’ve been planning for January 8 – David’s birthday and the weekend of the fifth anniversary since his passing. I have more news to share about what we’ve been working so hard on for David and all of you…

Next, our initial announcement included an impressive group of alumni and special guests vocalists joining us, but we were just getting started in letting you know about the group coming together who worked with David or were deeply influenced by him and his work.

I’m excited to announce that additional artists have been added to the already all-star lineup  include the Grammy award-winning British music icons Duran Duran, vocal sensation Adam Lambert, UK chart topping Yungblud, three-time Grammy nominee Andra Day, actor/musician Michael C. Hall, Mott the Hoople icon Ian Hunter, singer-songwriter and virtuoso guitarist Anna Calvi, award-winning musician Atticus Ross, Kind Heaven Orchestra vocalist Etty Lau Farrell, and How to Destroy Angels vocalist Mariqueen Maandig Reznor.

First, we’re proud to announce that we’ll be donating $2 per ticket purchase to the Save the Children US organization, a charity important to Bowie and the beneficiary of funds raised from his 50th birthday concert held in 1997 at a sold-out Madison Square Garden featuring many of the very artists who will be featured on January 8 during this special global streaming concert.

These great artists are in addition to the already impressive group previously announced of Trent Reznor, William Patrick Corgan, Gary Oldman, Gavin Rossdale, Perry Farrell, Joe Elliott, Macy Gray, IAN ASTBURY, Lzzy Hale, Bernard Fowler, Corey Glover, Lena Hall, and Judith Hill.

They’ll join alumni members of Bowie’s bands spanning each of Bowie’s studio albums, from his 1969 self-titled album through his final album, Blackstar. Newly announced alumni returning to honor David include Grammy Award-winning guitar legend Peter Frampton who was childhood friends with David and was featured on Bowie’s Never Let Me Down album and his Glass Spider tour. Also joining the show is Grammy Award-winning saxophone phenom David Sanborn who recorded on Bowie’s Young Americans album and was featured on his 1974 Diamond Dogs tour. Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman Music also joins the special A Bowie Celebration stream on January 8 having played piano on Bowie’s Space Oddity, Hunky Dory and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars albums.

Additional amazing career-spanning Bowie alumni will join our January 8 global stream including Everett Bradley,  Matt Chamberlain, Ava Cherry, Richard Cottle, Greg Errico, Mark Guiliana, Henry Hey Henry Hey, Emir Ksasan, Tony Levin, Geoff Maccormack, Andy Newmark, and Pablo Rosario plus previously announced alumni including Bowie’s final touring band of Gail Ann Dorsey, Earl Slick (official), Sterling Campbell, Gerry Leonard, Catherine Russell and me, along with Zachary Alford, Carlos Alomar, Kevin Armstrong, Alan Childs, Robin Clark, Emm Gryner, Omar Hakim Music, Clare Hirst, Erdal Kızılçay, Tim Lefebvre, Martha Mooke, Holly Palmer, Mark Plati, Carmine Rojas, Charlie Sexton, and Tony Visconti.

Special guest appearances will also be made by Nandi Bushell, Mr Hudson, Gaby Moreno, Joe Sumner, Simon Westbrook, and The Section Quartet.

…and that’s not all! There are more great artists still to be announced!
